I was agreeing with Devan last week that naming the third baby is excruciatingly hard. I’ll admit I haven’t put a whole lot of time and effort in to it; it’s been more of rolling things off of my tongue and filing them away. For me, and probably everyone else, deciding what a child will be known as for their entire life is a hefty decision. I want to feel passion and wild excitement for the name that we choose.
We were kicking around two girl’s names, which I believe that I have shared before, Abby and Olivia. I like both of those names just fine, save for the possible ramifications of Olivia being paired with my last name, but when I think about living with them, I’m just not wild with glee. CA’s name (to be deleted later which is yousnoozeyoulose) still gives me “the feeling” today. I am in love with her name, perhaps more so because I am in love with her, but you get the picture.
It was different with ED (whose name is yousnoozeyoulose, the same as Hub), because I did not necessarily care for the name, however, Hub felt the wild excitement over it because it was his given name, and he was named after each of his grandfathers. It is an important family name, and being important to him made it a necessity when it came time to naming our 1st born son, and honestly, he is nothing but an ED.
While I still have no feelings or prospects on a possible boy’s name, I came upon a girl’s name recently that I am in love with. I can’t stop thinking about it, and I think that it is “The Name”. (For this reason, of course, we will have another boy, and I will be screwed….) I hesitated to mention it to Hub thinking he would say no faster than I could get it out of my mouth, but he didn’t. He was actually ok with it. He figures I’ll change my mind 100 times between now and August, but I don’t think so. I can not picture our baby girl (who may not be a girl) with any other name.
So do you want to know what it is? I don’t know if I want to tell you. I was afraid that speaking it out loud to Hub would somehow change my opinion, or he would tell me something horrifically associated with the name, but he didn’t. I trust that you won’t either. You won’t will you?
I had my 12 week appointment today, and everything went well. The heartbeat was strong at 156 and my blood pressure was low, per usual. My next OB visit is 2/26 and then my anomaly screening and ultrasound is 3/6, which means 6 weeks before we can find out what we’re having. 6 weeks, GAH. Best of all, I can start taking pepcid again, and when I mentioned the migraines I’ve been getting she suggested Tylenol Sinus rather than plain Tylenol since they all start off as sinus headaches. It was a productive and quick visit……YAY!
Oh were you waiting to hear about that baby name? Here it is. The middle name is not set in stone. Tell me what you think, but only if it’s good. And hey, if anyone wants to help me with some boy’s names, just in case, have at it!

LOVE it!!!!! Grace is also my daughter's middle name, given b/c I have zero coordination and if she takes after me, she needs grace from somewhere.
Very pretty name. I like how it's spelled the same way backwards as it is forwards (because I'm weird that way). I actually know not one, but TWO little girls with that name (first and middle combination).
I do like that name, a lot, and I think it goes well with your other kids' names (and I LOVE that I get to know their names, by the way). And if it gives you that feeling... well, that's what matters.
I love the girls name you have chosen. Stick with it. It used to be one of my favorite names. At least the first name (and most likely the midlde name because that was my great-grandmother's name). I liked it with the boy's name Micah. Well, Matt has a cousin named Micah with our last name, so that's out for me. And for some reason I decided against Hannah. Probably because I know too many. Anyway, I still love the name. And I still love Micah for a boy. Or Josiah (but Matt despises that for some odd reason).
I love it. It is beautiful and elegant.
I know what you mean about 'the feeling.' When I was growing Jelly Bean, first I had 'the feeling' about the name Sylvie. I simply could not hear a more perfect name than that. Lovely, yes? But then I came upon Eleanor. And that was much better than plain old Sylvie. And then came the ultrasound...and that teenie little protrusion that knocked all the girl names out the window. So is life. :)
Good choice. Hannah is quite popular these days.
I have a hard time choosing a baby boy names. It so much harder. I love your girls names.
I always wanted to name my daughter if I had one Evelyn Grace. Evie for short.
I love the boy name you picked out.
I'm new to your blog, please feel welcomed to visit mine.

I LOVVVVVVVVE baby name discussions!!
...Or did you know that already?
I think it's very pretty, and it seems very balanced and cheerful and happy.
I think it's a great name! :) I would totally stick with it if I were you. It sounds great with your other names, and it's a great combination.
PS, I also love baby name discussions. For the record!
Shelly- good point on Grace. My child would need the same luck. :)
Lori- ME TOO! The name being the same backwards and forwards was one of the first things I brought up to Hub. He, of course, thought I was loopy.
Misty- I love the name Eleanor—it was my gramma’s name. Shortening it to Ellie would be really cute.
Swistle—I know!! SPAM! I feel like I’ve made it!
Daisy- I love Micah, but Hub would never go for it. Josiah reminds me of The Duggars……
Jillian- Evie is BEAUTIFUL!
Bee- Thanks. : ) I think I will find this topic fascinating long after I am done having kids.
Hannah Grace is beautiful. My only hesitation would be that both of those names are pretty common right now. BUT that doesn't make them any less pretty or any less perfect if the popularity of the names don't bother you. They wouldn't bother me, either, but my hubby has always been against using any names in the Top 40, so now I'm geared towards seeing popularity as a negative.
Desperate- Yes, I thought of that too, however the majority of Hanna's I've encountered are a few years old. In any case, I don't mind. My name is so common there were 5 or 6 of us in every class growing up. It can't get any worse.
I love the name. As you know, I don't get all worked up about popularity. It's fleeting anyway, and there's no way to know what will be popular in the future, so...EH.
I LOVE the name Hannah. I wanted to use Hannah if we have a girl, but it just would sound silly with our last name. Grace is pretty as well. What a great name!
I love Hannah, and I love Grace (YBaby is Elizabeth Grace). Just as an FYI, Hannah is Hebrew for Grace – so Hannah Grace is kind of like Grace Grace. Yeah, whatever.
As the mother of an Olivia, I would caution you that it is HUGELY popular right now. You can’t swing a dead cat on a playground without hitting 2 Olivias. Fortunately my Olivia is drop-dead gorgeous, so I figure she will always be “Pretty Olivia” (or “Stuck up snotty bitch Olivia).
Donna, who would change both daughter’s names if I could
Donna- I HAD NO IDEA!! Her name can't be GRACE GRACE!! I wasn't 100% on the middle though. :)
Thanks for pointing that out. :)
LOVE IT! and goes great with CA's name which i know because i read the other blog so ha ha neener neener!
