30 Weeks

Thirty Weeks is a real bitch--honestly. Think about it--I am not yet far enough where it could be "any time now", however I have been pregnant for 30 weeks. An especially long time given how soon I found out. I likened the third trimester to post partum last week, and as much as I'd like to tell you this vacation has been a party, it's mostly been ferociously dismal. Hub might use some more colorful words to describe it, but I will stick with dismal.

Lets keep the complaining to a minimum, shall we? Terrible cold, a bout of sciatica to end all sciatica, and just a general miserable disposition. Yes darlings, it is no mistake that I have not posted this week. You don't want to hear from me.

Here is the good- I have only gained 22lbs so far, my blood pressure is low, swelling is minimal, and for the first time in (my) pregnancy history, I can still wear my regular shoes.

Yes, the good. We have a pretty big day trip planned wit the kiddos tomorrow, so hopefully more of the good to come.

Ah! Sciatica. Poor Poor POOR THING. Oh man. I remember being in such excruciating mind-boggling pain that I just needed to sit down, but I was frozen with pain. I couldn't even sit on the floor because any movement at all made me feel like I was being electrocuted...only way worse. Way way worse.

Oh, honey. I feel for you.

Awww, you look GREAT! What a cute picture!

I had bad sciatic nerve pain too. Terrible. I could barely walk, which led people to make fun of me for "waddling" which led to me plotting their imminent deaths.

I'm sorry things are so dismal right now! But on the plus side, you look great, for serious.

Hi babes,
Just wanted to let you know that I stop by your blog everyday to see how you are doing. I am poop at leaving comments tho. I am so glad that you are OK, I was wondering where you were!! What email are you going to use when you get off work for maternity leave? Love you, Paprika.

I love 30 weeks. At 30 weeks, every week that goes by is such a huge percentage of the remaining time. From 13 to 14 weeks is NOTHING; from 31 to 32 weeks is HUGE.

There. Isn't that helpful? _I_ like 30 weeks, and therefore YOU like 30 weeks!

I think by 35 weeks I had gone into total LockDown mode, where I would not call or write or communicate with anyone I didn't have to, and I would sit on the couch every second that I was not at work and just try to breath. Dismal, indeed.

The last 10 weeks is the worst.

You look great! Only 22 pounds is AWESOME. I gained that much about 30 SECONDS after I knew I was pregnant. ;) Sorry about your back. Sciatica SUCKS.

But the good news is it won't be much longer. I think you look lovely. And when I looked at this post, I was all "No way, she can not be 30 weeks already. She was just announcing the pregnancy to us...yesterday or something." I suppose it seems much faster when it's not you.
