Friday Free For All

• I didn’t post yesterday, maybe because I was working, maybe because I didn’t have anything good to say or maybe (just maybe) I was too busy obsessing about how my torso in this photo is about the size of one of my thighs today. I don’t know……
• I’m making a conscious effort to not consume so much crap over these next few weeks as the baby puts on weight. Maybe, JUST MAYBE, my diet has contributed to the hypoglycemia of the other 2 children at birth. This doesn’t mean that I’m not roasting 10 marshmallows in the oven and eating them with a spoon (oh, because I TOTALLY am), but it means that I’m not doing it twice or 3 times in the same day. I’m also eating breakfast and making coffee at home rather than buying donuts and pastries, which has to be helping.
• At this point though, I’ve kind of lost interest in food. But I’m looking forward to eating hospital food. Because I’m a f-r-e-a-k. I love hospital food.
• I made 24 banana muffins on Wednesday night and as of this morning they are gone. Bud consumed 10 of them. 10 muffins. They are on the side of small cupcakes in size, but 10 muffins!! OMG.
• I have a few small objectives at work that are not work related. They are: sneaking in wearing my flip-flops which is a huge no-no, getting up as few times as possible while maintaining a constant supply of water, and walking without appearing to have something lodged in between my legs. So far I have done well with the first 2, not so much with the last. I’m also wearing jeans every day because all of my other clothes are stupid and uncomfortable. I’m having a love affair with Hub’s sweat shorts right now; they are a constant part of my at-home wardrobe.
• My desk thermometer reads 77 degrees, which solidifies my belief that I am being tortured.
• Despite having slept really well for the last 3 nights, I can not shake the feeling of exhaustion. Something tells me it won’t be going away any time soon.
• There will be contests-a-plenty next week. HOW FUN!!

I am doing a contest! I am doing a contest! For you know, you and the other two people who read my blog :D.

*I* usually eat 10 muffins when I make muffins. I should not make muffins. And yet....I do. And then wonder why MY thigh-to-torso ratio is all f***ed up.

People should not enforce a dress code on pregnant women. They should feel lucky you are there at all and not fuss about the cloth your pants are made of or if your shoes don't look the way they think they should look. Bah.

Roasting marshmallows IN THE OVEN? *stunned silence* It is like a whole new world has opened up to me.

I would wear my flips in the car, change to walk into the office, and change back into the flips under my desk. I'd put a fan under my desk, too.

I walk in to work wearing my flip flops almost every day. I have a drawer full of work shoes in my desk.

Also, I hope I turn out to be a freak who likes hospital food, too! I find out on Tuesday!

Yes, yes, you must tell us more about raosting marshmallows in the oven. Do you just put them in a pan and eat them with a spoon then? Mmmm.

I'm glad that you're trying to watch what you eat a little better for the rest of the pregnancy. At that point I didn't feel like eating much again. Although I didn't eat much at all while pregnant. I ate healthier and less than normal. And I still had a BIG baby.

Oh, I'll have to go check out these contests. Sounds like fun.

Have a great weekend!

You guys, yes---I put them on foil in a pan with sides and let them get brown and crispy on the top, and warm and melty in the center. Not as good as being done over fire, but they totally work.

Also, I keep work shoes under my desk and wear my flip-flops in but it is still frowned upon. The problem was I kept forgetting to bring in the work shoes causing unnecessary trips out to the car.

I too love hospital food. I think the key point is that *I* don't have make it--and they usually give huge portions (which you can drag out until your next meal seeing as how you only get a few bites in between nursing/burping/changing/whaev). Then it's like your eating good food ALL DAY !

Slippers! A very-swollen girl at work wore those nice ballerina house slippers at her desk. They were cute AND "technically" in dress code. And yes, all companies need to just look the other way when a new mama is dealing with her swollen feet!

Hospital food was excellent. I could eat fish every day (my husband does not eat fish, causing me great heartache and fish withdrawals).

I am loving your toasted marshmallow trick. I could just use a spoon and eat the Fluff in the pantry though....hmmm.

I am not a fan of flip flops, mostly because I was always flopping down on the ground like a moron who couldn't walk.

Oh. My. Gosh. I have NEVER even THOUGHT about roasting marshmallows IN THE OVEN. Now I can't STOP thinking about it.

Oh, and I jumped on the pay it forward contest bandwagon as well. I hope I can get these marshmallows out of my mind to think of a PRIZE.
